1:1 Gold Backing

The operational standard where each digital ARC token is directly substantiated by exactly one ounce of physical gold bullion held in reserve.

Atomic Swap

A smart contract technology that enables the exchange of one cryptocurrency for another without the need for a trusted third party or centralized exchange.

Compliance Committee

An internal body of experts responsible for overseeing the project's adherence to global financial regulations, including AML and KYC standards.

Issuance & Settlement

The process of creating new digital tokens against physical gold deposits (Issuance) and converting tokens back into physical bullion (Settlement).

Proof of Reserve (PoR)

A transparency mechanism that provides verifiable evidence that a digital asset's stated reserves match its physical holdings at all times.

Safekeeping Receipt (SKR)

A legal document issued by a storage facility or bank that confirms the existence and ownership of specific physical gold bullion.

Tokenization

The process of converting the ownership rights of a physical asset (such as gold) into a digital token on a blockchain.

Wyoming Trust

The legal framework under which Aureus Reserve is incorporated, leveraging Wyoming's advanced digital asset and trust legislation.
